Christmas Letter from Solidarity CEO, Bradley Hahn

Dear Friends and Fellow Members of Solidarity,

During the Advent season, we prepare our hearts, minds, and homes for the coming of the Christ Child with great joy: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.  Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand.” (Philippians 4:4-5) Our family finds great comfort in these words.  Especially during the many material and commercial distractions leading up to Christmas.

A great example of the joyful preparation for the arrival of the Messiah is the visitation in the first chapter of Luke when John the Baptist and Jesus “meet” for the first time, at the visit of Mary to her cousin, Elizabeth:

When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said,
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”

Even as an unborn child, John the Baptist recognized Our Lord and responded with great joy.  As we continue to prepare for Christmas, I pray our response to the Lord is filled with great joy.

Thank you for your membership in Solidarity HealthShare and for those families responding with great joy as we share in one another’s medical expenses and continue to pray for one another.  I am greatly consoled by the stories from our members about how Solidarity has impacted their lives.  For example, families tell me how the money they save on medical expenses with Solidarity has enabled them to purchase their first family home; how the prayers of our community have uplifted them spiritually during a medical crisis; and how Solidarity helped a family whose mother had breast cancer navigate the vast bureaucracy of the medical community to find the best doctors for her at a reasonable price.

On behalf of our Member Care team and the leadership team we are grateful to serve you and your family with joy.  Be assured of our prayers.  Wishing you and your family a blessed Advent and a holy Christmas.

Yours in Solidarity,

Bradley L. Hahn, J.D.
